How to read it
It is set by the tire and the lowest point of the overhang (bumper, air dam or hitch), so a trim with a different bumper scores differently. On the 2026 Jeep Wrangler, it runs from 41.4° (Sport 2-door 2.0L turbo automatic) to 46.7° (Moab 392 4-door 6.4L V8 automatic). The list’s 47.4° needs the Xtreme 35 Package. A winch bumper or a lower air dam cuts it; bigger tires and a lift raise it.

How this list is made
What is compared: the maker’s approach angle, pickups and SUVs together.
One row per model: its newest generation, the newest model year we have that publishes the number (at most two years older than its newest), and the configuration with the highest figure, factory packages included and named. Fleet-only configurations (police and special-service trucks) are left out. When two trims tie, the four-wheel-drive one stands for both. Numbers are ranked as printed, so equal-looking numbers tie.
“Up to”: where the maker prints a ceiling over a range of configurations instead of a number for each, the list shows the ceiling and the range it covers.
Scope: among the 52 vehicles in our data with a published figure. It isn’t every vehicle on sale: it is every one we have documents for. We track 7 more without the number in the documents we have: Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mitsubishi Pajero and Ram 2500. Fewer than 5 with the number and there is no list.
Dates: the documents behind these figures were last checked . A number is wrong or missing? Report a wrong number with the document. More in how we source the numbers.
